SLUGGERS CAMPS/ PERSONAL TRAINING UPDATE

We would like to let everyone know about a few updates we have for the upcoming months. First of all I would like to introduce our strength and conditioning personal instruction, something that we think is important for our athletes to have access to. If you are interested in sport specific personal training or speed training we have two qualified personal trainers who are doing work for us here at Sluggers. Both of our personal trainers are listed and you can view their bio's by clicking their picture, if you are interested in contacting them click the "Email Instructor" link below their name on their listing to contact them about personal training.

Also we will be having a change in the upcoming High School Showcase in January. We are changing the showcase weekend to January 14th NOT January 21st. Please let us know if you have any questions about this change.

Another reminder about Our camps and clinics coming up. CHRISTMAS CAMPS:
Our Christmas Camps this year will be December 27th-30th. We will have 3 different camps hitting, pitching, and defense. These camps are for ages 8-18 and will be lead by a variety of instructors from the Sluggers Advanced Baseball Staff, all of which have playing or coaching backgrounds at the professional or college level. These camps are structured to teach the game of baseball in ways that will benefit each camper in his specific game! Online registration is available and will be our main form of registration!

6 WEEK BASEBALL CLINICS:
These clinics will be on the following dates January 14th, 21st, 28th and February 11th, 18th, 25th. Clinics will be on Saturday's any time between 9am to 4pm. We will place you into groups that are age similar and release a schedule after the registration deadline. If you sign up for multiple clinics we will try to have your clinic times as close together as possible. Online registration is available and will be our main form of registration. Sluggers Advanced Baseball Staff of instructors will be doing the instruction on all of our 6 Week Clinics. We have a variety of experienced instructors that consists of playing and coaching experience from college to professional baseball. Check out “Instruction” and “Baseball Instructors” on the top navigation's bar of the website for more information on Sluggers Staff instructors, all instructors involved in this clinic will be of a professional or college playing or coaching background.

SLUGGERS 11th ANNUAL HIGH SCHOOL SHOWCASE:
This years High School Showcase will be January 21st, 2012 and is for Sophomores, Juniors, and seniors in high school. We will have junior colleges, small 4 year, area Division II schools and area professional scouts in attendance. This is a great recruiting tool for these colleges and we have had well over 100 players get noticed and signed after attending our showcase. We will send out data obtained at the camp to all of the area schools even if they were unable to attend. This is a great way to get a jump on other players heading into the spring. If your goal is to play college baseball, this is a great opportunity to showcase your skills to college coaches and scouts. Online registration is available and will be our main form of registration!

SLUGGERS NEWS:
We would like to thank those who have been a part of our past and let you know a little bit about our future. We are planning big things and are in talks that will allow us to staff with fully professional qualified full time staff members (some of these guys will be working on these camps with us this year) and allow us to get full facility renovations done! We are planning to expand our facility capabilities, expand on our current staff, and continue to provide THE BEST baseball instruction in the area in more efficient setting! These camps are a great opportunity to learn from one of the top Division II baseball programs in the country and a recruiting avenue to be in front of the program if you are interested in ESU baseball. Sluggers Academy would like to pass some information about our Academy to our email lists. We apologize that the email lists have not been active, we are working on some big things for the future and would like to get information out about our personal instructors that we have lined out for the winter months of 2011/2012. If you are interested in personal instruction all of our personal instructors and information are listed on our website under instruction and by clicking "Baseball Instruction" in the drop down box. All personal instruction information will be listed here, if you are interested in a specific instructor you can view their bio's (all bio's coming soon) by clicking their picture from the baseball instruction page. If you would like to contact a personal instructor to schedule time with them please click the "Email Instructor" button listed by each instructor on the page. If you are having problems getting a hold of an instructor please contact Sluggers and we can get you in touch with them. Sluggers Academy instruction will continue this week listed at the "More Details" link below are the groups as they were last week, we are adding the hitting and pitching groups for those who have signed up for the advanced academy instruction for November and December. Team instruction will be the weekend instruction as we had all last week, we will announce times soon and Advanced instruction will be the hitting and pitching groups. If you think that you are supposed to be listed in a group, your name should be somewhere, or you want to sign up and join an advanced group please let us know! If you are wondering about the advanced groups please refer to the contract at this link on the website: http://www.wichitasluggers.com/PDF/2011_2012_contract.pdf. If you are in an advanced group and need to be in a hitting or pitching group and are not listed please let us know.

A few notes, if you have not gotten your contracts in for this year YOU NEED TO DO SO NOW! We will be looking to fill spots in the coming months and will fill these spots according to contracts and payment. Also, if you have not had your player profile activated, please do so by contacting me. This is something that is not only a recruiting tool but something that we will use to build media guides that will go to coaches and rosters as well. You are responsible for the information that goes in this profile so if yours is not activated and updated with information your information will not go out. SLUGGERS ACADEMY UPDATE: INSTRUCTION

Sluggers Academy will be starting its winter instruction this weekend Saturday, November 5th. We will be meeting with all members that we have playing for our Academy this year. We have posted groups on the website and they can be found by clicking the "More Info" link below. Listed below will be the Saturday schedule for these groups, once again please see the link for the group listings.

GROUP 1:
This group will go at 9am-11am on Saturday morning. This group will consist of JR's and SR's, we will workout and talk about the recruiting process for the future. Parents are more than welcomed to come and ask questions. We will speak at the end around 10:30-10:45ish. Please email response if you plan on attending.

GROUP 2:
This group will go at 11am on Saturday morning, if parents have questions please come and we will answer them.

GROUP 3:
This group will go SUNDAY November 6th at 2pm.

All workouts and meetings will take place in the soccer facility. Please let us know if there are any questions! Also, if there are any players that are not listed please let us know so we can fix this issue.Also if you have not gotten your contracts in please do so ASAP! We are still in need of some confirmations of players so we can fill spots if necessary. Please let us know either way!

SHOWCASE FALL BALL WEEKEND UPDATE

Showcase Red will now be playing at Coffeyville CC on Sunday due to last minute changes on field locations for this showcase. Make sure you let us know if you cannot make it!

The Tabor showcase will include a cookout afterwards and free admittance to the Tabor College football game following your games.

Due to a large number of decommitments before this past weekend and Butler Co. canceling their showcase due to work being done on their field. We have consolidated our teams into 3 teams for the coming weekend. We will see how this plays out and make decisions on what is to come in the future for our teams. Congratulations to current Slugger Tucker Chadd who was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in last week's MLB First Year Player Draft. Tucker is signed to play baseball next year at Barton CC.
